COVID-19: 1,330 new cases as of today morning, two deaths

THE number of new COVID-19 cases is safely back below the 1,500 mark, standing at 1,330 on Tuesday morning (June 6), with four of them being imported cases, bringing the country’s total number of cases to 4,516,319 since the pandemic began.

There were also only two deaths reported within the last 24 hours, with one of those brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 35,690.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 1,881 patients have recovered since yesterday, bringing the number to a total of 4,458,999 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak started in Malaysia.

However, the number of hospital beds being used around the country has reached up to 59.8%, with the intensive care units (ICUs) at 57.6% capacity.

Currently, 22 people are being treated in ICUs, with exactly half of them (11) in need of ventilator support.

Meanwhile, the total number of reported active cases in the country is back to a declining stage, standing at 21,630, with 95.5% of them (20,659) being subjected to home quarantine. – June 7, 2022
