Beware: Kitten “adopters” might just be looking to feed their pet snake

AS AN animal lover, it is very heartening to find another “animal lover” out there who is willing to adopt an animal in the name of kindness.

We who have just rescued a mother cat and her litter of kittens may be compelled to hand them over to these kindhearted individuals.

But be careful. In our effort to help, we might actually send these poor animals to a horrific death.

These statement is best reflected by a recent viral post on X warning about snake feeders who are looking for kittens online.

According to the post by @pedoqpop, these snake feeders usually display certain features that betray their true intention.

They usually do not reveal the address of their home, and have a preference for male kittens below one year old as these are bigger, providing a larger meal for their pet snakes.

“Once they have received the kitten, they will block the owner,” said the post.

The frightful post has since garnered over 4,900 reposts and 33 comments. Indeed, a good number of netizens were shocked by the post, expressing great concern.

Netizen @SonOfKino said hopefully the feeder himself is eaten by his own pet snake.

@chinchinwachisa added that reptile lovers are his eternal enemy. Perhaps the winning comment goes to @Simz2905 who said that the snake feeders could simply cut off his manhood to feed his snake if he didn’t have the money to buy some mouse.

As usual, the internet has its share of weird people too. Not sure whether it was sarcasm or not, but @wanhelm33 wondered about those cat feeders who gave snakes to their pet cats instead. Plot twist?

Then there was @RajaSyahmi13 who asked if it was okay to feed puppies to their pet snake instead.

Safe to say, this post on X wasn’t just good to bring awareness to the situation. It also showcases the many mentally disturbed individuals who inhabited the cyberspace, hiding behind anonymity and fake profile photos. —July 29, 2025
