DAYS after a Singapore-registered car was spotted refuelling with subsidised RON95 petrol in Iskandar Puteri, another similar case has emerged, this time along the Senai-Desaru Expressway.
Photos of the vehicle went viral on Friday (Aug 8), prompting Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo to confirm an investigation is underway.
She criticised the lack of vigilance, noting the pump was “right in front of the payment counter”.
Authorities will review CCTV footage and vow to make no compromise on negligence.
The Johor branch of the KPDN is still investigating another viral case involving a Singapore-registered luxury vehicle owner seen filling subsidised RON95 petrol into a plastic container at a station in Iskandar Puteri.
Enforcement officers inspected the site, reviewed CCTV footage, obtained the purchase receipt, and met the station owner, who was issued a stern warning.
A case was opened under the Control of Supplies Act 1961, which carries heavy fines and possible jail terms for offenders, with higher penalties for repeat offences. KPDN urged the public to report any misuse of controlled goods and subsidies. — Aug 9, 2025
