BRICS summit 2024: Russia takes over chairmanship of bloc

The BRICS summit opens on Tuesday in the Russian city of Kazan. It will be attended by the heads of member countries, as well as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Russia took over the chairmanship of the group earlier this year.
