THE cyberspace was gripped with concern over Mahathir’s health after he had to leave early during the Picnic & Potluck programme at Tasik Putrajaya.
Mahathir has since emerged to inform that he felt better, at the same time, apologising for not being able to be with the public during the programme.
But even in a recent video on X, he is seen weighted down by his old age, speaking slowly and looking tired.

However, the man still has his supporters as seen in the responses in the comment section. A good many netizens wished him well along his road to recovery.
Sadly, there are also the haters who suggested that he retire, alleging that he was causing chaos in the political arena.
Perhaps the winning comment went to @helahhidup who advised that Mahathir charge his heart batteries first. “Your battery is low,” he added.
Despite the recent turn of events, Mahathir at 100 years old already defies his age by being able to move about so actively.
According to the website, MSD Manual, most of the body’s functions reach their peak just before the age of 30, after which they gradually begin to decline.
Despite this steady decline, these functions usually remain sufficient, as most organs begin with far more capacity than the body typically requires.
However, this gradual reduction in function makes older adults less capable of coping with physical stress, such as intense exercise, sudden changes in temperature, or illness.
It also increases their sensitivity to medications, making side effects more likely. Some organs are especially vulnerable under stress, particularly the heart and blood vessels, the kidneys and urinary system, and the brain.
To recap, Mahathir arrived at the event grounds at 7:45am, having driven himself, before cycling around Putrajaya Lake.
However, he appeared tired and sat down briefly to rest on a bench before making his way to the breakfast table that had been prepared.
Mahathir showed signs of fatigue after completing a ride of between eight to nine kilometres. In short, he did pretty well for his age. —July 14, 2025
