In a statement today, Supermax said it is coordinating the logistics and distribution with the National Disaster Management Agency of Malaysia (NADMA) to ensure the gloves reach the first responders in the quickest possible time.
Supermax founder Datuk Seri Stanley Thai expressed the company’s appreciation to the frontliners and wants to ensure that each and every one of them is protected as well as effectively reducing the risk of being infected themselves and their family by the deadly virus.
“The medical gloves should be for single use only and not to be sanitised nor reused to prevent risk of infection and we would like to encourage others to give full support to the government by participating in the sponsorship.
“They can make a minimum contribution of RM150 for a carton of medical gloves and save lives by contributing 15 sen for each glove to be used by the frontliners,” he said, adding that all collections received will be used to supply more medical gloves to the frontliners.
This is in addition to the one million gloves Supermax has donated and to be distributed to the frontliners through NADMA, he added.
Prior to this, Supermax donated three million gloves to Wuhan and has helped other sponsors to deliver 8.9 million gloves to China during the height of the outbreak in China.
